🤖 Google’s New AI…Coming Soon

Google has historically been the leader of AI, and they don’t want you to forget.
Back in 2016, the company launched an AI program called AlphaGo that beat the world’s best player at Go, a game that’s more difficult than chess.
Now, they’re using AlphaGo to build an AI more powerful than GPT-4.
Here’s what’s going on: Google’s building an AI model called Gemini that will be capable of planning and problem solving by using techniques from AlphaGo.
AlphaGo was trained on a technique called reinforcement learning, in which an AI model solves problems with repeated attempts and receives “feedback on its performance”
Here’s the catch: Training an AI models is really expensive. Just look at GPT-4 - which ended up costing OpenAI over $100 million.
🩺 UK’s £21 Million AI-Injection

We know AI has tremendous potential to improve healthcare, and the UK wants to get the ball rolling - as the country announced its investing ÂŁ21 ($26.7) million into rolling out AI across the NHS.
Here’s what’s going on: The NHS has launched the AI Diagnostic Fund to accelerate the deployment of AI-powered technology that can “help diagnose patients more quickly for conditions such as cancers, strokes and heart conditions”.
Did you know?
The UK has already invested ÂŁ123 million into 86 AI technologies that detect strokes, as well as monitor and manage cardiovascular conditions at home
…And it’s working:
In some cases, AI has helped UK doctors diagnose and provide treatment for stroke victims in ½ the normal time — “which has been shown to triple the chance of patients living independently after a stroke”
đź’µ Amazon Invests Millions into AI Fund

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is launching a $100 million Generative AI Innovation Center “to catch up with Microsoft and Google”.
Here’s the catch: The idea is to connect Amazon-affiliated experts in AI, ML, and strategy with customers looking to build AI-powered products.
Now’s the time:
A recent report from McKinsey & Co. found that generative AI could add up to $4.4 trillion annually to the global economy
The Innovation Center is promising: Fortunately for Amazon, companies like Highspot, Twilio, Ryanair, and Lonely Planet have already committed to be among the first customers.
